Day-to-Day:

An oncology nurse's day typically begins with patient assessments, checking vital signs, and reviewing medical histories. They administer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, and coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Throughout the day, they educate patients and their families about the disease, treatment plans, and potential side effects, while managing symptoms and providing palliative care to ensure patient comfort. Accurate documentation is maintained, and follow-up care is conducted to monitor patients' post-treatment. Oncology nurses advocate for patient needs within the healthcare system and provide emotional and psychological support. They may also participate in cancer research and clinical trials, and attend team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans. Often, oncology nurses work in pods, which consist of a provider, nurse, physician assistant (PA), and certified medical assistant (CMA), ensuring comprehensive and collaborative care for patients. Their role is crucial in ensuring patients receive comprehensive care and support throughout their cancer journey.

This role is based in Marietta, GA. It is a 6-month contract to hire position. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.

Compensation:

$32/hr to $40/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of

the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this
